About The Show

Here Be Dragons is BBC Radio Wales’ first sketch show in over three years and taps into an exciting new generation of some of the brightest, most exciting names on the UK comedy scene – all of whom just happen to be Welsh.

Made for almost half the budget of a comparable BBC Radio 4 sketch show, the series received a great response from listeners and did very well for the network: in its first week getting more than double the ‘listen again’ requests of the next best performing programme. It has been nominated for a coveted Radio Academy Award for Best Comedy 2014.

Sketches are set in the familiar real world of cafes, launderettes and public toilets but with an eccentric twist. The result is fast-paced and upbeat, mixing snappy wit, keen observation and infectious silliness into a show that has enough attitude to be distinctive, but is still accessible to a mainstream audience.

Here Be Dragons won the Bronze Award at the Radio Academy Awards (previously known as the Sony Awards).

Season Two is currently airing on BBC Radio Wales at 1pm on Saturday afternoons.
